Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie reached an agreement over the custody of their six children last year, but the actor has not yet been spotted with their kids since then.

Jolie, 43, is often photographed going on outings and traveling with her and Pitt's children, Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 10, since filing for divorce from the actor in 2016. And while reports surfaced that he spent Christmas last year with his four youngest kids, Pitt, 55, has rarely been spotted with their children publicly over the past few years.

Jolie's lawyer told BBC in December 2018 that the estranged couple had reached an agreement on the custody of their six children, but the attorney did not divulge any details about how the custody would be divided.

As such, it is unclear if Pitt is spending time with his kids in private settings, but a source recently told Us Weekly that if he does plan on traveling with the children, he would need Jolie's permission first.

“Brad must get Angie’s approval before traveling with the kids, as she must get permission from him as well,” the insider said.

If the source's statement is accurate, then Jolie would have needed to inform Pitt when she jetted off to New York City with their six children earlier this year.

The source went on to say that things have been less tense between Pitt and Jolie after they reached the custody agreement, but their divorce negotiations are still ongoing. “Brad and Angie have been on better terms since the custody trial drama was settled. There are, of course, going to continue to be disagreements between them,” the source added.

Pitt and Jolie were spotted having a face-to-face meeting about their ongoing divorce at an attorney's office in Los Angeles back in January. A source told Us Weekly at the time that this had not been the estranged couple's only in-person meeting since their split.

“They have established a foundation … that is enabling the process to move forward in a much more thoughtful and peaceful manner," a second insider told the outlet.

Jolie ended her marriage with Pitt in September 2016 after two years of marriage and 12 years together.
