Britney Spears’ latest Instagram post has caused a stir among her fans who believe the singer may have been shading her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears.

On Friday, Britney shared a post that appeared to be a dig about her family members who recently spoke out about her conservatorship and their support for the singer.

“Never forget who ignored you when you needed them and who helped you before you even had to ask,” read an image of the quote.

In the caption, Britney went on to blast people close to her who failed to help her even though they knew she wanted her father, Jamie Spears, removed from her conservatorship.

“There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support … there’s nothing worse than that!!!!” Britney wrote.

“How dare the people you love the most say anything at all … did they even put a hand out to even lift me up at the TIME!!!??? How dare you make it public that NOW you CARE … did you put your hand out when I was drowning????”

Britney went on to suggest the people the post was directed toward knew who they were and claimed they only spoke out publicly to save their image.

“Please stop with the righteous approach when you’re so far from righteous it’s not even funny,” she wrote.

Jamie Lynn’s name became a trending topic on Twitter the following day, with Britney’s fans believing the singer was calling out her sister, who has previously spoken out about the conservatorship.

On Wednesday, Jamie Lynn appeared to respond to the hearing of the conservatorship, which allowed Britney to hire her own attorney. Jamie Lynn shared a post about wanting to end something “once and for all.”

Jamie Lynn previously shared a video in June claiming that she supported Britney’s decision to try and end her conservatorship. Meanwhile, earlier this month, Britney’s mother Lynn Spears told the New Yorker she had “mixed feelings about everything.”
