While Prince William appears to be a reasonable man, insiders claim there is one thing he considers unforgivable. Prior to his relationship with Kate Middleton, William reportedly struggled with trust issues while attending the University of St Andrews.

Due to his ties to the royal family, William wasn’t sure whether students genuinely wanted to be his friend, or if they were using him because of his social status.

In the book, “William and Catherine,” Andrew Morton revealed the young Prince would spread rumors about himself to see which friends would share the false information with the press.

“At university, William faced a problem of trust. He laid false trials, making up stories which he fed to those he suspected of treachery,” Morton revealed.

William’s friend, Michael Choong, told the author the Prince wouldn’t forgive anyone who wronged him. “Will didn’t suffer fools gladly and he detested people who sneaked on him to the media. He’s certainly not a vindictive guy, but you can forget it if you abuse his trust,” the author wrote.

Once Prince William was able to figure out, who was sharing information with the press, the individual was shunned by the royal’s inner circle. “The chief suspect, a female student, was ostracised by the prince and his circle,” the royal biographer revealed.

The female student wasn’t the one only who received the cold shoulder from William’s friends. When the Duke of Cambridge began dating Kate, Morton claimed his pals didn’t welcome Kate into their circle.

“It was felt that she wasn’t from the right stock. William was expected to find a suitable bride among the aristocracy or European royalty – one of his own kind. Kate was treated abominably behind her back by some who should have shown better manners,” he revealed.

“Kate would have sensed reservations about her in certain quarters. While she was seen as a ‘pretty and sensible’ girl, there were those in royal and aristocratic circles who believed that the Middletons were too middle-of-the-road for the House of Windsor.”

Despite his friend’s feelings about the relationship, Prince William and Kate married in 2010. The couple is now parents to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
