Princess Diana was accused of not being a good mother to Prince William and Prince Harry when she was still alive.

On the online forum site Quora, royal fans said that the fact that the Princess of Wales left her sons under the care of their nannies could only mean that Princess Diana wasn’t very hands-on after all.

The royal fan also said that Princess Diana only took over in taking care of her two boys when they were already eight years old. It was around that age that Prince William and Prince Harry went to boarding school.

But some royal fans also came to Princess Diana’s defense by saying that most working moms have nannies or babysitters to look after their children. Princess Diana was a very busy parent since she’s a member of the royal family.

“When she could, Diana was a hands-on mother. Unfortunately, the demands put on her by her position as wife to the Prince of Wales/future Queen Consort were tremendous. That's part of life as a Royal. A major Royal wife isn't ALLOWED to be a full time stay home mommy,” Eileen Wood, a Republican, said.

Susan Lord Williams, a Medieval Spanish chef, also said that Princess Diana’s schedule wasn’t as flexible as the schedule of other working mothers. As such, it is understandable why she couldn’t always be with her two sons. However, this doesn’t mean that she’s a bad mother.

Meanwhile, Princess Diana wasn’t the only member of the royal family who focused on her duties and responsibilities over her children. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip also did a similar thing when Prince Charles and Princess Anne were still very young.

In fact, royal experts have claimed that Prince Charles and Princess Anne aren’t close to each other or even to their two other siblings because they didn’t grow up in a home that was filled with love and communication.
