Starbucks customers across the United States have been telling their baristas this week that their names are "Black Lives Matter".

Their hope is to raise awareness and encourage conversations about race by forcing Starbucks employees to shout the phrase across the store when their orders are ready.

Facebook user Lex Cross posted his Starbucks receipt and a screenshot of the app Thursday to show his new name #blacklivesmatter. Since then, the 33-year old photographer's post has been shared more than 47,000 times.
