  • Xbox executives shot down rumors about "Starfield"
  • They clarified fans' queries about the game's launch platforms
  • Bethesda has not yet revealed the launch platform or release date of "The Elder Scrolls 6"

A recent statement from Xbox executives may have revealed the launch platforms of Bethesda's highly anticipated game "The Elder Scrolls 6."

It looks like Bethesda Senior Vice President of Global Marketing Pete Hines and Xbox General Manager for Marketing Aaron Greenberg have revealed the release details of "The Elder Scrolls 6."

The Xbox executives on Monday used Twitter to quell rumors claiming "Starfield" would also release on PS5. The statements surfaced after some of the things Hines said at the Bethesda Gamescom live stream were interpreted by fans as an indication that the space-faring title would also launch on Sony's new generation gaming system.

"Starfield will be launching exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 11, 2022. Game Pass members can play it on day one as well on Xbox & PC. I know we have said this all before and none of that has or will change," Greenberg tweeted Monday.

When Hines was asked by a fan on Twitter if he was suggesting "Starfield" might release in PS5 in the future, he said, "No, that isn't what I was suggesting."

While the Xbox executives shot down rumors about "Starfield" releasing on Sony's gaming console, they also seemingly hinted at the launch platforms of "The Elder Scrolls 6." If this is the case for the space-faring game, the next "The Elder Scrolls" installment might follow the same route.

"The Elder Scrolls 6" would most likely release as an Xbox exclusive title, releasing only on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. In fact, GamesBeat journalist and industry insider Jeff Grubb has the same thought about the launch platform of "The Elder Scrolls 6."

Grubb retweeted a fan's tweet about the possibility of "Starfield" releasing on PS5 in the future and said, "No. And also Elder Scrolls 6 is planned as Xbox exclusive as well.." "The Elder Scrolls 6" is still a few years away and fans will definitely hear more details about the game in 2022 following the release of "Starfield."

Neither Xbox nor Bethesda has said anything about the launch platforms of the next "The Elder Scrolls" installment. However, with the massive fanbase of "The Elder Scrolls,' it looks like Xbox will use it to its advantage considering the amount it spent when it acquired Zenimax. But, nothing is official as of yet.

"The Elder Scrolls 6" was announced at E3 2019.
