A new Ice Cream Sandwich update is ready for the Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi version and the Nexus S GSM variant. It's the newest version 4.0.4, and it fixes a few bugs and adds a few minor features. Owners of the Verizon Xoom 3G and Sprint Nexus S 4G might be wondering what this means for them. We don't know, but the difference is the carriers. Because the Wi-Fi Xoom and international Nexus S versions aren't carrier based, they get updates faster. That's also why the Asus Transformer Prime ...

That includes the marked down $400 iPad 2 and $350 Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 at Best Buy. The Galaxy Tab is on sale, but it's been out long enough that it will likely stay at that price. Nokia's big push into the U.S. smartphone wars begins April 9, and when the Lumia 900 releases on AT&T for $100 on contract, people will want the best new apps for their new toy. Lucky for them, Nokia has been hard at work on new apps for quite a while. Most of that work has gone into Nokia's own operating system Symbian, but now its Microsoft partnership will be the focus.

Draw Something App is Newest Addition to Social Gaming Zeitgeist

Draw Something, the Pictionary-like iPhone app, is the newest addition to a growing number of casual games designed to take advantage of the increasing numbers of people connected through smartphones. Much like the Internet has changed hardcore gaming, wireless devices are transforming the way non-gamers look at easy to play, social games. Instead of first-person-shooting and dungeon style adventure games, smartphone users are flocking toward games that take advantage of fast wireless connection...

HTC One S: T-Mobile's Next Takes on the Samsung Galaxy S2

HTC is going with the less is more ethos in 2012 and putting out fewer, but better phones instead of one device for each and every niche it can think of. We don't have a price or release date yet, but we know it's a step down from the new flagship One X for AT&T.

Great Laptops Under $500: Lenovo Essential G Series and HP G4 Pavillion

Lenovo, Asus and HP all make great laptops under $500, and depending on what kind of configuration you're looking for, they can be even cheaper. We're basing these rankings on the fact most have Intel i3 processors that will support users who don't have any super-heavy lifting to do with their machines. They'll multitask fairly well, but not at a high speed. Gamers and video editors will likely not find much here to like, but if you are on a budget or if you are looking for something...

Why the Samsung Galaxy Note is the Perfect Template for a Google Nexus Tablet

Google has been rumored to be working on its own Android-powered tablet being touted as the Nexus Tablet. That is, a Google branded device with no other software from a manufacturing partner. It's also rumored to be a seven-inch tablet costing less than $200, and it would do well to emulate the Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone now on AT&T. Since no tablet can take on the iPad without some awesome apps, a Galaxy Note-like device with a stylus could be the spark the Android world needs to corral ...

$10 Samsung Galaxy S2 on AT&T vs Free Nexus S 4G on Sprint: Smartphone Spring Cleaning

Both AT&T and Sprint are offering some quality kit on major discounts, and the Samsung Galaxy S2 is just $10 on contract at AT&T. Sprint has the Samsung Nexus S 4G for free until the end of March, but we don't know how long AT&T will keep the Galaxy S2 at only $10. Additionally, the price for the S2 is on the Web site only, and the Nexus S price is for new lines only, no upgrades.

HTC Vivid Ice Cream Sandwich Update Now Official from AT&T

AT&T is now pushing down Ice Cream Sandwich updates to the HTC Vivid smartphone. Vivid was one of the first LTE phones for AT&T's high-speed network, and while it hasn't been as popular as the Samsung Galaxy S2 overall, it will nevertheless get the Android 4.0 update first. We don't know if that is a Samsung decision or AT&T, but the international variants of the Galaxy S2 have been getting the ICS update already.

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G vs HTC Amaze 4G: T-Mobile Adds More Android Power

T-Mobile has begun offering the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G at a few stores in the U.S., and it will have a nationwide release on March 28. It's $150 on contract, and that means it's about $70 less than the Amaze 4G, but that doesn't make it a better deal. While both phones are marketed as 4G phones, they are not LTE-enabled like some phones on AT&T or Verizon. The Galaxy Blaze is a half-step down from the popular Galaxy S2, and apart from the fact it shares part of its name with the Sams...

What is Spectrum Crunch? Data Plans to Evolve as new LTE iPad 3 Roars Over Wireless Networks

New iPad users who've purchased the 4G LTE-enabled variant have begun hitting their data plan limits only days after taking their new toy out of the box. There are many reasons for this, and several ways to combat it, but another more comprehensive problem is being unmasked in this situation. As more and more mobile internet devices connect to cellular antennas, carriers have to make more room for them. Additionally, carriers are looking into new shared data plans so people don't need to h...

Free Samsung Nexus S 4G on Sprint Until the End of March

Sprint is giving away the Samsung Nexus S 4G in a Web only deal until the end of March, possibly to clear the way for the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus and LG Viper. We've heard the Galaxy Nexus will finally leave its Verizon birthing ground for Sprint on April 15, and if that is true, this Nexus S deal would make some sense.

Next Generation Wind Farm Prototype Will Take Alternative Energy to Another Level (Photos)

French conglomerate Alstom is building a wind farm prototype along the country's Atlantic coast, and the 100 meters-tall turbine tower uses 75 meters-long wind blades, the largest in the world. The turbine is meant to be used above the ocean's surface, so the engineering and manufacturing have to be precise to withstand the harsh weather and wet conditions. An offshore location for a wind farm is seen as a much better place because of the consistency and strength of the wind.

Best Buy is offering the Acer Iconia Tab A100 for $260 and free shipping while the Nook Color price has dropped to $170. Could one of these be the best under $300 tablets? Obviously, we're leaving out the Nook Tablet and Amazon Kindle Fire, but the Acer A100 and Nook Color are on opposite sides of those devices, price-wise. So, looking at these two seven-inch tablets could give a bit more perspective on what's the right choice for tablets in this price range.
