Danny Masterson, the star of the hit TV series "That '70s Show," has been charged with sexually assaulting three women.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Lost Angeles County District Attorney's office announced that Masterson has been charged with three counts of rape that took place between 2001 and 2003. The actor was arrested by the authorities on Wednesday (June 17) and was taken into custody. However, he was released later in the day on a bond of $3.3 million.

As per the district attorney’s office, the actor is accused of raping a 23-year-old girl in 2001 and a 28-year-old woman in 2003. Masterson is also charged with raping another 23-year-old woman in 2003.

The star's lawyer came out with a statement and noted that his client is "innocent." In a statement obtained by Variety, Tom Mesereau, attorney of Masterson, explained that his client would be a free man once the witnesses get an opportunity to testify.

"Mr. Masterson is innocent, and we’re confident that he will be exonerated when all the evidence finally comes to light and witnesses have the opportunity to testify. The people who know Mr. Masterson know his character and know the allegations to be false," Mesereau said.

This is not the first time that the actor has been accused of sexual assault. In 2019, four women filed a suit against him in the Church of Scientology for harassment. The women alleged that they were being watched by Masterson's people as they went to the police.

The charges against Masterson came a day after comedian Chris D'Elia was accused of sexual misconduct. Several women took to social media and shared their horrifying encounters with the star.

Simone Rossi released a string of screenshots Tuesday representing a conversation between herself and a person who appears to be D’Elia. Rossi said she was only 16 when D’Elia approached her on the micro-blogging website.

“Imagine being 16 and being groomed by a stand-up comedian twice ur age and the only reason you never met up and never got physically m*lested was because u had just gotten a boyfriend ur own age,” Rossi wrote.

Meanwhile, another user accused the comedian of exposing himself to the hotel staff.

Their tweets went viral and numerous other women joined them with similar allegations against the "You" star, many of them did it anonymously.
