An elderly woman in China dangling upside down from a clothes hanger after accidentally falling off a 19th floor balcony was rescued by firefighters.

The dramatic scene was caught on camera and the video of the same has gone viral on social media.

The 82-year-old unidentified woman was hanging clothes on the 19th-floor balcony of her apartment in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, when she accidentally slipped over the edge of the balcony. The woman’s legs got entangled on a clothes rack on the 18th floor, while her torso, arms and head were dangling over the 17th floor, preventing her from plunging to her death, Times Now News reported.

Soon, neighbors alerted the firefighters who rushed to the scene in time to rescue the woman. While one team of firefighters held on to the woman’s legs on the 18th floor, the other tied a rope around her torso from the 17th floor. They then managed to pull her to safety. The woman did not suffer any serious injuries but was fatigued.

The video of the dramatic rescue, shared by South China Morning Post, has since gone viral on social media, with people praising the firefighters for saving her life in the nick of time.

"Wonderful job by the Firefighters," one person wrote.

"Hats off to the saviours," wrote another person.

"Great job done by firefighters," another user commented.

The video has been viewed over 9,000 times.

Earlier this year, a delivery man in Vietnam saved a little girl, who fell from the 12th floor. The jaw-dropping moment was caught on camera and went viral on social media. The video showed the 2-year-old child climbing out of the balcony. She was then seen dangling from the building by just holding onto a railing of the balcony. Moments later, the toddler was seen starting to lose her grip. Luckily, the delivery personnel caught her in his arms when she lost grip and fell. After the video went viral, the delivery man was hailed a real-life superhero.
