  • She said Paul makes her feel secure about herself

Adele has opened up about her relationship with Rich Paul during her “One Night Only” concert special Sunday on CBS. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the 15-time Grammy winner revealed that her relationship with the American sports agent was the first time she has ever loved herself.

During the interview, Adele gushed over how smart and funny her boyfriend is, and how she simply enjoys his company. “He’s just hilarious,” she told Winfrey. “Oh, he’s so funny, he’s hilarious, yeah. And very smart. You know, he’s very, very smart. It’s quite incredible watching him do what he does,” the singer added, according to People.

Adele also said she loves how “smooth” their relationship is and how Paul makes her feel secure about herself. “And just the easiness of it. It’s just been very smooth,” she said.

Saying her relationship is the first time she’s ever been “open to loving and being loved by someone else,” Adele said Paul walked into her life at the perfect time. “It’s just timing,” she said. “But it’d be interesting to see what my reaction is like in general to anything that hurts me now that I feel so secure in myself, and I’m talking outside of romance as well,” she added.

When Winfrey asked her what she wants in her new relationship, Adele said she’s seeking peace of mind and stability. “But I don’t have to expect someone else to give me stability,” she said, adding that she doesn’t treat love “like a game anymore.”

In an earlier interview with Rolling Stone, Adele revealed that she met Paul on a blind date following her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki. She also stated that they had initially met a few years ago before the two were set up on the blind date.

Adele said they reconnected earlier this year after the death of her father, and since then, the relationship has blossomed into something beautiful. She went on to describe her relationship with Paul as the “most incredible, openhearted and easiest” she has ever been.
