With the release of “Avengers: Endgame” a few weeks away, the world is waiting to see what's next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, one of the confirmed upcoming MCU films may have found one member of its cast.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Angelina Jolie is in talks to star in Marvel’s upcoming “The Eternals” film. It is not known at this point who Jolie would play, though it is believed that the project could be another ensemble piece for Marvel.

The outlet also reports that the key part of the film could be a love story between the cosmic energy fueled Ikaris and the human-loving Sersi. Currently, the film has Chloe Zhao slated to direct a script written by Ryan and Matthew Firpo.

If Jolie does sign on, this would make it her first superhero movie and second comic book movie. She previously starred alongside "X-Men" star James McAvoy in 2007’s “Wanted.”

It would also make her the latest actor under Disney’s banner to shift from one major studio project to another, as Jolie is set to star in 2020’s “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil”. A recent example of this was Paul Bettany, who plays Vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and appeared as the villainous Dryden Vos in “Solo: A Star Wars Story”.
