Monday’s “The Bachelorette” premiere saw Hannah Brown say goodbye to several of her contestants. After her eliminations, fans of the ABC series flooded social media to voice their upset over the departure of some of the new cast members, but it was the elimination of Matt Donald that seemed to result in the most uproar.

Matt was introduced in the premiere as a 26-year-old tractor-driving medical device salesman from Los Gatos, California. During his introduction he revealed he had two deaf parents and what many viewers considered to be a “heart of gold.” Following his elimination, fans of the series are calling for Hannah to bring Matt back to the competition -- which, according to spoilers, doesn’t happen -- or have him appear on the network’s spinoff dating series, “Bachelor in Paradise.”

Other viewers are comparing Matt to last season’s “The Bachelorette” night one send-off, Grocery Store Joe. Fans of the series will remember that Season 14 lead Becca Kufrin eliminated Joe Amabile in the premiere. His fan appeal went on to earn him a spot on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” and “Bachelor in Paradise.”

Either way, it is clear “The Bachelorette” fans want more of Matt Donald.

“The Bachelorette” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
