Two days after Beyonce gave birth to a baby girl named Blue Ivy Carter, the first child for her and husband Jay-Z, the power couple released a statement on Beyonce's official Web site welcoming the bundle of joy.

The statement reads:

January 9th, 2012

Hello Hello Baby Blue!

We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.

Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven.

She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives.

We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.

The couple also released a song about Blue Ivy called Glory, which was placed at the bottom of the statement on the Web site. You can hear the song here.

Blue Ivy was delivered at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. Beyonce and Jay-Z got married on April 4, 2008 after years of dating.

Blue Ivy Carter is described by her Aunt Solange Knowles as The most beautiful girl in the world.
