Big Sean tweeted a threatening message Thursday about Justin Bieber and then quickly deleted it. Or so it seemed. The incident may have been a misunderstanding from the get-go, TMZ wrote. Big Sean now claims the Twitter post was a hoax.

The drama started when Bieber appeared as a special guest during Grande’s concert Wednesday in Los Angeles and put his hands around her waist. It looked like Sean had a problem with the singer performing with his girlfriend after some cryptic tweets appeared on his page.

First, he simply wrote “wow,” but then he issued a more confrontational tweet -- that he now denies was written by him: Thanks to screenshots from around the Internet, eveyone can still see what was written on his page: “This kid is about to learn not to touch my girl like that. Beliebe that.”

Bieber didn’t seem threatened -- hoax or not. His last tweet thanked Grande for letting him perform with her: “Love the stage. Thanks for having me @ArianaGrande and thanks LA. Gotta tour again soon :)”

Grande didn’t address the would-be controversy in her tweets. Instead, she thanked her fans and sent a message to her boyfriend: “Love u babes the most. You just can't imagine.”

Big Sean is on tour in Canada and he’s not thrilled with being apart from his girlfriend. “So many times in my life I wish I could of been at 2 places at once,” he wrote Wednesday.

As for Bieber, the single star recently revealed what he’s looking for in a girl. "This business is hard, and I want someone I can confide in,” he told USA Today. "I'm just trying to make sure I'm 100 percent so I can add to the person I want to be with."

But he’s not too worried about finding someone. "I'm still young," the 21-year-old said. "I'm still trying to figure out who I am, and I'm just trying to have fun."
