Bobbi Kristina Brown has been distraught since the Feb. 11 death of her mother, Whitney Houston. Though the world lost a legend, 19-year-old Bobbi Kristina lost a mother and a best friend. The young girl had an emotional breakdown after Houston's sudden passing and braved through the funeral. She is now currently dividing her time between the homes of her uncle Gary Houston and aunt Patricia Houston in Atlanta and her grandmother Cissy Houston in New Jersey.

Bobbi Kristina Brown decided to give her first interview since the death of her mother to Oprah Winfrey, an interview that aired Sunday during Oprah's Next Chapter on the OWN channel. She chose to sit down with Winfrey because she trusts her, reported TMZ. She has not spoken with any other members of the press. Any Twitter accounts set up in Bobbi Kristina's name are impostors. Bobbi Kristina's official Twitter, @realBKBrown, has not been used since Dec. 26, 2011.

'She Wasn't Only a Mother, She was a Best Friend'

I'm getting through it, were the first words Bobbi Kristina uttered to Winfrey. I'm doing as good as I possibly can at this point. She said that her family and the Lord are helping her stay strong. Whitney Houston passed away suddenly on Feb. 11 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. No cause of death has yet been determined, though a toxicology report is expected soon.

Bobbi Kristina Brown remembered her mother once asked her, Do you need me, baby? Bobbi Kristina responded, I'll always need you.

She said that she continues to feel her mother's spirit around her. Sometimes she will wake up at 5 a.m., a time when Whitney Houston said the saints pray, and will begin praying herself. Whitney Houston has come to her in her dreams and she believes her spirit is in the Atlanta house where she currently lives.

Bobbi Kristina was quite composed during the interview with Oprah Winfrey. She wore a white blouse and a pearl necklace. She stayed calm and poised despite the burden of sorrow that undoubtedly fills her each day. Bobbi Kristina said Houston wasn't only a mother, she was a best friend.

They Took Care of Each Other

Oprah Winfrey asked Bobbi Kristina if she took care of mother Whitney Houston just as much as her mother took care of her. The young girl responded positively, saying that although they fought they were always there for each other.

At the end of the day, that was still my mother, that was still my confidante, that was still my everything, said Bobbi Kristina.

She said that it is difficult to deal with the paparazzi since her mother's passing, but that her mother prepared her for a life in the spotlight. Bobbi Kristina expects acting and dancing in her future, and said her mother prepared her for such a life and she is ready.

The Last Day

Winfrey asked the teenage girl about her last day with her mother. Sometimes, you know, she would come in my room and she would sleep with me. But that very last day it was so, so early in the morning. I went to go get her and I said, 'You know, Mom, will you just come hang out with me, come lay with me.' She stayed with me all night and all day. She was holding me and everything. And I slept in her arms, all day and all night long, said Bobbi Kristina.

Winfrey asked if she was finding her own strength through it all, and Bobbi Kristina said that she has. She never believed she had such strength in her, but it has come out. She thanks her mother, her angel, for that.

Both Winfrey and Bobbi Kristina Brown agreed that they wished there had been such a glorious tribute, similar to the outpouring of love and adoration expressed at her funeral, dedicated to Houston while she was still alive.

Whitney Houston, a Dear Friend of Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey was a close friend of Whitney Houston. She dubbed her, simply, The Voice.

I think it's ironic that [learning to love yourself] was something she continued to struggle with until the very end, said Oprah Winfrey on Sunday night, in a pre-recorded interview intro. Whitney was, is, and will always be loved. And now she knows it.

Houston gave an intimate interview to Winfrey in 2009, when drug use rumors and a troubled marriage weighed heavy on the superstar singer.

In that interview, Houston discussed her troubled marriage with Bobby Brown. She said they would smoke marijuana laced with cocaine. They would sit next to each other for days, hardly speaking, because they were both so stoned. We weren't buying, like, $20 jumbos; we were paying money, we were buying, like, an ounce. ... We weren't doing, like, pipe smoking, we didn't get that far. You put your marijuana, you lace it (with cocaine), you roll it up and you smoke it in your weed. ... It's almost like heroin and cocaine speed-balling, but you level it off with the marijuana, she said.

I was losing me into [the marriage], she said. by trying to be pleasing. She said that she did not do things by herself; she did everything with Brown. I was so weak to him. I was so weak to the love, she said. He was my drug. I didn't do anything without him. I wasn't getting high by myself. It was me and him, together. We were partners.

Bobbi Kristina said that, as for the drug rumors and negativity, They don't know who she really was. They just want to talk. She said that Whitney Houston's family, friends and even Oprah Winfrey knew the real Whitney.

Bobbi Kristina's Reported Drug Use

Bobbi Kristina's personal demons have been under scrutiny since the death of her mother, a death which has been blamed on a mix of alcohol and prescription drugs. TMZ previously reported that the family wants Bobbi Kristina to enter a live-in rehab facility immediately. But they were holding off on telling her until after Whitney Houston's funeral and burial.

In March of last year, photos surfaced of the young girl snorting cocaine. The photos were supposedly taken by Bobbi Kristina's boyfriend at the time, who said that the teen is addicted to cocaine. I've tried to stop her, he said. But all she said was, 'I'm just like my mother!' Whitney needs to see what her daughter is doing to herself. If Krissi [Bobbi Kristina] doesn't stop soon, this addiction to cocaine will kill her. The photos were taken in Alpharetta, Ga.

The Daily Beast hinted at possible drug use by Bobbi Kristina after Whitney Houston's funeral on Saturday. Supposedly, following the ceremony, Bobbi Kristina disappeared and family members frantically tried to find her.

Friends of the family have acknowledged that the young girl needs help. Cissy and others won't admit out loud that Bobbi Kristina has a drug problem, said the family friend. But they know it and have been trying to keep her straight even before Whitney passed. But losing your mother and the life you're accustomed to all in one day is enough to send anybody off the deep end.

Bobbi Kristina admitted to Oprah Winfrey that she was a rebellious teenager; but, at the end of the day, she was a mama's girl. I was a little rebellious, said Bobbi Kristina, but when it came down to it, I ran to mom. She would always run home to Whitney Houston, whose arms were always open to comfort her.

She literally is an angel, said Bobbi Kristina.
