Brad Pitt, who has largely remained tight-lipped about his relationship with ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, commented on the same in an interview with Parade magazine which was published on Thursday.

I spent the '90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony, he said.

I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage [to actress Jennifer Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't, he told the magazine.

Pitt created controversy by delivering statements which said that the best thing he had done in his life was to give his kids Angelina as a mother.

I put much more emphasis on being a satisfied man, he said. I'm satisfied with making true choices and finding the woman I love, Angie, and building a family that I love so much. A family is a risky venture, because the greater the love, the greater the loss. ... That's the trade-off. But I'll take it all.

The above written quotes were misinterpreted by a lot many media organizations as Pitt speaking badly of Jennifer Aniston. It was interpreted that Aniston was uninteresting. But later Pitt sought to clarify himself in a statement issued by his talent agency.

The Moneyball star clairified: It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly. The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself -- and that, I am responsible for.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston got divorced six years ago. Pitt is now with Angelina Jolie and the couple has six kids -- three of whom are adopted -- together.

An angry Aniston had said in reaction to Pitt's statement that he was missing a sensitivity chip.

Aniston is currently dating Justin Theroux, who is also her co-star for an upcoming movie Wanderlust.
