After rumors swirled around the Internet yesterday that Chris Brown was using his assault on Rihanna as a pick-up line at a pre-Grammys party, the singer has denied the allegations.

UsMagazine.com reported yesterday afternoon that Brown confidently approached an attractive brunette Feb. 10 at the Lasio Professional Hair Care suite Grammy gift lounge and asked her, 'Can I get your number? I promise I won't beat you!', to which she commented, He and his friends laughed, then one yelled, 'That's his new line!' Ugh! I wanted to throw up!

The singer's reps denied the report to TMZ, saying That is absurd and absolutely not true. I did not say that nor would I joke about that.

Another report by TMZ has the singer refusing to enter Rihanna's birthday party last week at the Hearst Mansion in Beverly Hills unless partygoers signed a confidentiality agreement. Some reportedly signed it, but others balked and left the party.

At least one music critic buys the controversial singer's pick-up line denial, with Chris Weingartner (@1000TimesYes) tweeting this morning:

The clearly fake Chris Brown pick-up line gossip = the media safely enjoying a woman-beating joke behind the lens of feigning concern.
