Chrissy Teigen apologized to Courtney Stodden for the bullying issue years ago.

John Legend's wife, 35, regretted the way she treated the 26-year-old American model. In a series of tweets, Teigen expressed how sorry she was for the way she treated Stodden before, Page Six reported.

"Not a lot of people are lucky enough to be held accountable for all their past bulls--t in front of the entire world. I’m mortified and sad at who I used to be. I was an insecure, attention seeking troll. I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that..." Teigen wrote.

"Is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel. I have worked so hard to give you guys joy and be beloved and the feeling of letting you down is nearly unbearable, truly. These were not my only mistakes and surely won’t be my last as hard as I try but god I will try!!" she added.

According to Teigen, she tried to connect with Stodden privately. However, since the issue was publicly fueled, she also wanted to make a public apology.

"I’m so sorry, Courtney. I hope you can heal now knowing how deeply sorry I am," she continued.

Aside from apologizing to Stodden, she also apologized to her fans for letting them down. She promised them that she is going to improve herself.

"And I am so sorry I let you guys down. I will forever work on being better than I was 10 years ago, 1 year ago, 6 months ago," she added.

Several netizens commented supportive messages to Teigen.

"This is as sincere an apology as I've ever read. When we f--k up, all we can do is own it. Thanks for leading by example, Chrissy. Be kind to yourself," author Allison Winn Scotch commented.

"I think i speak for everyone when i say all is forgiven chrissy! don’t worry about it," another added.

Dana Williams also comforted Teigen saying she has "done a lot of growth this past year." Williams said she is proud of Teigen for apologizing sincerely.
