Scientists believe that improving life expectancy is possible. The key is making the right and healthy decisions as regards your lifestyle. If you live a sedentary life and consume unhealthy foods, such as those rich in saturated fats, then you can expect health problems to arise in the future. Along with it is a shorter lifespan.

Health experts agree that the secret to a healthy lifestyle is consuming a healthy diet loaded with lots of fruits and vegetables. The National Health Service recommends consuming at least five portions of these daily. Aside from a healthy diet, performing at least 150 minutes of exercises each week, divided into chunks of 30 minutes daily, can also help a lot. There is one beverage; however, that could really help you attain the goal of improving your lifespan.

A Surprising Finding

Recently, scientists based in Amsterdam revealed the surprising results of a new study. They were able to identify a different variety of yeast used in a fermentation process, which could hold the key to a longer life.

The presence of this specific strain of yeast in this beverage means its consumption is good for you. This should be a cause for celebration for beer lovers because researchers actually concluded, based on their findings, that drinking beer every day is good for your health. Researchers discovered that certain kinds of beers contain health-enhancing probiotics that help in protecting against dementia, obesity, and insomnia.

Amsterdam University scientists have identified strong beers like the Hoegaarden, a well-known beer made in Belgium, as good sources of probiotic yeast. This particular strain of yeast, which helps convert sugar into alcohol, also creates acids that can kill potentially dangerous bacteria.

A Healthy Beer

One of the lead researchers on the study, Professor Eric Claassen, said that if you are consuming a stronger beer, you should know that it is very healthy. This does not mean you should go out and drink more beer though, as high alcohol concentration in the gut is also bad. If you, however, drink just one of these types of beers daily, it would be very good for you.

Professor Claassen then identified some of the best beers that contain huge amounts of probiotic yeast. These are the Echo Kriekenbier, Hoegaarden, and Westmalle Tripel.
