Prince William was born two years before Prince Harry. The Duke of Cambridge also happens to be the eldest child of Prince Charles, who is the current heir to the throne. This means that Prince William will one day become king.

On the online forum site Quora, royal fans recently discussed whether or not the Duke of Sussex secretly wishes that he was born before his brother. Some of them are also curious about whether or not Prince Harry wishes that Prince William didn’t have children of his own.

Sallie Smythe, a royalist and monarchist, said that it is highly unlikely for Meghan Markle’s husband to have this kind of secret wish. This is because being a monarch brings with it enormous responsibilities.

“As the head of a constitutional monarchy, our sovereigns have next to no real power. William will have to continue to see his prime ministers on a weekly basis, he’ll have to formally open Parliament once a year, and try to look vaguely interested at yet another Trooping of the Colour, etc.,” she said.

During a previous interview, Prince Harry said that no one wants to be the monarch and this one of the main reasons why he couldn’t secretly be wishing that he was born before Prince William.

Kathleen Asbury also said a similar thing that no one really wants the job of a monarch.

“The first in lines generally consider themselves unlucky to be born as the heir to the throne. Their lives are so restricted and regimented… They consider a duty that they must perform against their will,” she said.

Jonathan Trueman, a professional screen and copywriter, said that if anything, Prince Harry is even relieved that he was born after Prince William and that his older brother already has three children. This is because the chances of him becoming king one day have become very slim.
