“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” has seen an upward spike in TV ratings and they seem to be going further up after comedian Louis C.K. appeared on the show late Tuesday to call President Donald Trump a “lying sack of s---.”

“Someones people lie – ‘That guy lied, they found out he lied.’ Then there’s somebody who lies because they can’t quite stay inside the boundaries of truth,” the comedian said. “Then you have a liar, somebody who it’s almost like a problem, they lie a lot.”

“Then you have a lying sack of s---,” C.K. said, referring to Trump. His comment was met with a loud applause from the audience.

“That’s somebody who just they just lie, they like it — he likes it. He goes, ‘Heh heh, it wasn’t even true. Wasn’t even true. Then I said ‘they were liars,’” C.K. explained. “It’s just an insane. It’s just gross. He’s just a gross, crook, dirty, rotten, lying sack of s---.”

However, the comedian added that this was not a political position. He also said he doubted whether the president’s name was even actually “Donald Trump.”

Last year, C.K. wrote a letter to his fans, asking them to reconsider their decision if they were going to vote for Trump.

“Please stop it with voting for Trump,” C.K. wrote in his 2016 letter. “It was funny for a little while. But the guy is Hitler. And by that I mean that we are being Germany in the ’30s. Do you think they saw the s--- coming? Hitler was just some hilarious and refreshing dude with a weird comb over who would say anything at all.”

During his appearance on Colbert’s show, the comedian said he regretted calling Trump Hitler, but added that he will not take it back. He also said that even though he loved former President Barack Obama, he also took a number of decisions that the country should not be proud of.

In the end, C.K. stressed the importance of voting when he said it was not about what you want. He said, “You say, ‘What will happen if I don’t [vote]?’”
