Dow, S&P gain on financials, consumer staples
The Dow and S&P 500 indexes on Wednesday erased losses to trade flat as gains in financial and consumer staples shares offset worries about a possible spread of Greece's debt crisis to other European countries.
* The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> added 9.59 points, or 0.09 percent, to 10,936.36. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 0.88 points, or 0.07 percent, at 1,174.48. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> slipped 4.99 points, or 0.21 percent, to 2,419.26.
