The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences will be raving over Jamie Dornan’s performance in the upcoming feature film adaptation of E.L. James’ “Fifty Shades of Grey,” according to the film’s screenwriter Kelly Marcel. During a recent Q&A session at Reza Aslan’s “The Writer’s Room” at DBA in Hollywood (via E! News), Marcel, 40, gave credit to Dornan for accurately bringing the erotica series’ more sensual lines to life.

“Apparently, Jamie is great at being soft and hard at the same time. Which is hard to do for an actor!” Marcel said of the native Irish film star’s performance portraying the BDSM-practicing billionaire Christian Grey, adding, “He’s going to get an Oscar!”

Marcel, fresh off "Savings Mr. Banks" fame, also dished about the film’s script ahead of the its highly-anticipated Valentine’s Day release. “He’s my own Christian Grey-flavored popsicle,” Marcel said, reciting one of James’ character’s Anastasia Steele’s (Dakota Johnson) more memorable lines from the series’ when questioned about the difficulty that comes with adapting an R-rated sequence. "She says that, 'You are my popsicle.’ That line went in, it's genius.”

Despite her love for the saga’s risqué storyline, Marcel admitted that translating James’ adult novel to the silver screen didn’t come without difficulty. “I had to actually describe everything,” she said of Christian and Anastasia’s bedroom sequences, stating that just writing “they made love,” just didn’t cut it. “It was really embarrassing when you’re doing studio notes around the table with 12 people,” said Marcel.

Marcel’s “Fifty Shades” Q&A comes just three weeks after author E.L. James discussed the film’s explicitness on NBC’s “Today” show. “It’s happening,” James, 51, confirmed of the feature's graphic sex sequences. “What I’ve seen hasn't been particurarily watered down,” she said.

Last month, Universal released the film’s first official “too-hot-for-morning TV” trailer on NBC. The two-minute teaser now has over 25.1 million views and counting on the studio’s official YouTube page.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” hits theaters Feb. 13.
