It looks like Barry (Grant Gustin) and the rest of Team Flash are going to meet Earth-19 Flash in an upcoming episode of “The Flash.”

On Friday, Dec. 2, YVRShoots spotted a new mysterious character in costume while the CW series was filming some scenes in downtown Vancouver. At that time, a fan on Twitter pointed out that the unidentified character bears some similarities to the “Justice League 3000” version of the Flash. But since their costumes didn’t completely match, a lot of fans weren’t convinced that the two characters were the same.

Earlier today, however, another fan on Twitter figured out the real identity of the mysterious character. As seen in a photo he tweeted to YVRShoots, the man spotted on set was Earth-19 Flash, a.k.a. the Accelerated Man.

In DC lore, Earth-19 is one of the 51 divergent realities that branched from the core New Earth reality during the recreation of the Multiverse following the events of Infinite Crisis. In this universe, Earth is still in the Industrial Revolution, which would explain the Accelerated Man’s period clothing and unusual moniker.

It’s unclear whether Barry is traveling to Earth-19 or the Accelerated Man is the one going to Earth-1 later in the season. Either way, it seems that Barry is going to ask the Accelerated Man to help him defeat Savitar. After all, that would be consistent with the original Savitar story from the comics, in which the villainous speedster was thrust into the Speed Force by a speedster army formed by The Flash.

Since H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) previously mentioned that he has worked with Earth-19 Flash before, it seems that Barry isn’t going to have any difficulty convincing the Accelerated Man to join his battle against the god of motion.

Next week’s episode of “The Flash,” titled “The Present,” airs on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW. Check out the synopsis for Season 3, episode 9 below:

“With Alchemy (Tom Felton) and Savitar still looming threats, Barry is unable to focus on the Christmas holiday, and especially his relationship with Iris (Candice Patton). Determined to stop Savitar, Barry goes to Earth-3 to get advice from Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp). Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) wants to help Barry fight Savitar and reveals that he’s been training with H.R., which doesn’t go over well with Barry. As Cisco (Carlos Valdes) faces his first Christmas without his brother Dante (Nicholas Gonzalez), old wounds are reopened.”
