It has been one week since ABC has aired a new episode of “General Hospital” and fans are beginning to reach their breaking point. Due to the ongoing impeachment trial, the ABC soap opera has been preempted for the last week.

Unfortunately for fans, it appears they will have to go another week without “GH.” The network’s coverage of the presidential impeachment trial for Trump has cut into the soap opera’s usual time slot and upset viewers, who are eager for new episodes.

On Monday, the “General Hospital” Twitter account shared a video featuring Laura Wright and Steve Burton. In the clip, the actors encouraged fans to check the “GH” social media accounts to stay updated about the show’s schedule.

Before the impeachment hearing began, White House advisor Kellyanne Conway predicted that the impeachment trial would be over in two weeks. Although that means fans will definitely have to go another week without new episodes, it could also just be the beginning of more preemption.

At this point in the hearings, the Democrats will try to get the Republicans to join them in voting for the subpoenaing of new witnesses. If that happens, the length of the trial will be extended, and it is unclear how long that could last.

That means fans could go several weeks without seeing new episodes since ABC has not released new content online, as it has in the past. However, if the additional witnesses are not approved, the trial could be over by the end of the week and new episodes could begin airing Monday, Feb. 3.

“General Hospital” airs weekdays at 3 p.m. EST on ABC.
