Tabitha (Jessica Lucas) will be shocked to see Butch (Drew Powell) take the form of Solomon Grundy in “Gotham” Season 4. FOX

Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) is bound to meet her ex-beau Butch Gillian (Drew Powell) this Season 4 of “Gotham,” and it’s finally happening in the episode called “A Dark Knight: Stop Hitting Yourself.”

Butch, who now takes the form of the zombie, Solomon Grundy, has forgotten his old life. The only one pulling his strings is Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith), who is desperate to regain his brainpower. How will Tabitha deal with the new Butch?

In the trailer for the upcoming episode, the former lovers face off in the Narrows. Tabitha looks visibly shocked to see Butch, who seems to have no clue who she is. The old Butch wouldn’t have dared harm Tabitha, but Grundy does not seem to care as he dragged her in the arena.

Despite Butch’s memory loss, Powell earlier told Comic Book that all is not lost. “I do think there’s going to be a lot of Butch still in Grundy and I think that makes perfect sense in the way that [producer John Stephens] and the writers have set this up and so I’m really excited to kind of now bring the two together in this new character that I really love,” he said.

It’s going to get really complicated when Butch, or rather Grundy, gets his memories back. Grundy has come to rely on Nygma as his friend, although Nygma is clearly using him for his strength. They also formed an unlikely partnership with Dr. Leslie “Lee” Thompkins (Morena Baccarin), who agreed to help Nygma get his brains back in exchange for money to run her charitable clinic.

“When Butch becomes Solomon Grundy, he doesn't remember his former life, so when he runs into Ed Nygma, he doesn’t remember that he wants to rip his head off. And Ed, who is suffering the effects of being frozen for three months, needs Grundy's help to get strong again. The three of them [with Lee] form this weird little family,” Stephens told Cinema Blend.

“Gotham” Season 4 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
