Rahul Kohli as Ravi

Ravi (Rahul Kohli) is getting his own adventure in Season 3 of “iZombie.”

In an interview with TVLine, Kohli said that Ravi will go on an undercover mission this season all by himself. “Ravi has his own investigation that takes him out of the group completely,” Kohli teased. “He’s far enough away from everything that he’s anonymous. So he’s able to be a little bit more incognito than the other characters [in Team Z].”

After feeling ineffective following his failure to save Peyton (Aly Michalka) from Mr. Boss’ (Eddie Jemison) henchmen in Season 2 finale, Ravi’s new mission this season will allow him to prove his worth to the team.

“I think there’s a feeling that he failed at the end of Season 2 — that Blaine (David Anders) became the man of action and Ravi sat out in the car — and I think he’s still reeling from that,” executive producer Rob Thomas told TV Guide. “I think it makes him feel smaller. And I think his pride is wounded and he doesn’t respond well to that.”

“But … going deeper into the season, we give Ravi his own adventure … where he kind of gets to prove his mettle as the season moves on,” Thomas said. “I know that Rahul, the actor, was thrilled with what Ravi got to do this season. I was happy to get him out of the lab this season.”

Before the show reveals what Ravi’s undercover mission is, it seems that the medical examiner will first spend most of his time working on the zombie cure and dealing with his former boss Katty Kupps (Christina Cox), who previously fired Ravi from the CDC.

“iZombie” Season 3, episode 2, titled “Zombie Knows Best,” airs on Tuesday, April 11 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
