For the parent of a young athlete, it can be challenging to navigate the complex world of youth sports. The Jordan Year Challenge is a seven-day program that aims to help those young athletes develop the physical and psychological traits of world-class athletes, while also empowering parents to guide their children toward success. This program is organized by MSM Performance Academy and its non-profit initiative, The MSM Foundation, and demonstrates how to reach new heights through the principles followed each day during the program.

The program is designed to help athletes of all levels create a vision and set achievable goals to surpass them. Parents are encouraged to help their children think big and dream bigger about what they want to accomplish without limitations. Emphasizing the building of self-confidence while instilling a positive mindset to focus on strengths, rather than weaknesses. Self-awareness is also a key aspect of the program, as athletes are encouraged to understand their abilities, as well as their emotions and behaviors.

Day 1: Vision Workshop

This is where participants are encouraged to think big about what they want to accomplish. The workshop introduces different vision tactics for players and parents to explore while spotlighting the importance of having a clear vision. Participants learn about the nature of a vision, why it's important, and get context/examples from industry experts. The workshop also covers parenting principles and how the overall vision is essential.

Day 2: Self-Belief Workshop

Day two is when participants explore the impact of self-belief on one's game and how to harness it to power forward. Participants are introduced to the nature of self-belief, where it comes from, and how to relate it to their vision. They also explore how limited self-belief can easily hold them back, if they let it.

Day 3:Self-Awareness Workshop

On the third day, the Challenge addresses the tough aspects of self-development, such as flaws and mistakes. Participants are taught about self-awareness, its importance, and how to become friends with their flaws. The workshop also explored how conditional lessons work. It is a major step for self-acceptance and breaking free from mental limitations.

Day 4: Habits and Routines.

Day four focuses more on kinetic energy. It is here that the importance of having solid routines and good habits for success are all demonstrated. The workshop unveils tactics to break bad habits and rebuild them to support overall goals. Here, players and parents are also taught how to build a lifestyle and stick with it.

Day 5: Optimization and Essentialism Workshop

This is the day that participants are taken to the next level. Learning how to accelerate their growth and remove friction from their lives, participants develop new characteristics.It is on this day they learn about becoming unstuck from common missteps.

Day 6: Leadership Workshop

For team leaders, day six shows how to have an impact on a team while leading players to greatness, just like Michael Jordan. Participants discover the stages of leadership, how college coaches and pro scouts look for that leadership, and how to use the leadership checklist.

Day 7: Goal Setting Workshop,

With all the tools in place, day seven is where participants set measurable goalposts in their journey for the year. They're taught how to set measurable goals, complete the goal-setting worksheet, and outline their clear roadmap to success in 2023. It's here that they see their vision of success on paper and realize that their dreams are attainable through hard work.

All week, players are given the tools for success. The Jordan Year Challenge offers a truly unique opportunity for athletes and their parents to learn from world-class athletes and coaches, as well as experts in mental health and wellness. By participating in this program, athletes can develop the skills and mindset needed to reach their full potential. Parents can also learn how to support their child's athletic journey in the best way possible.
