Brad Pitt and Lena Dunham’s viral kissing photo, taken last year at the premiere of “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood,” has earned a lot of interpretations but the multihyphenate actress finally cleared the air once and for all.

While speaking to Andy Cohen, the writer opened up about what really transpired during the event and the photo that made the rounds on the internet, reported People. The picture in question showed Dunham reaching for a kiss on Pitt’s lips, an effort which seemed to be unsuccessful.

Many people didn’t find the viral kissing photo amusing, but Dunham explained it was nothing like what people thought.

“Well, the way the Internet read it was I had somehow physically accosted him causing him a great deal of stress. I would never force a kiss on Brad Pitt,” Dunham said.

She added that she wouldn’t do that because she respects him not just as an actor but also as a friend. Dunham also narrated how sweet Pitt was during the event -- the “World War Z” actor knew that she was nervous and to ease the anxiety, they went to a room to munch on pizza.

It was also where the award-winning writer praised Pitt’s ring and told him that she liked it. The 56-year-old gave her the band and the recipient revealed that whenever she wears it, something good happens.

Dunham went on to underscore how good of a man Pitt is even before they began filming together. When she came to the set of “Once Upon a Time …in Hollywood,” for which the actor who played Cliff Booth won an Academy Award, she only anticipated a small kind gesture from him.

However, what happened was even better – the scene needed Pitt to park his car and then look around, but he came over Dunham and spun her around. For her, it felt like a cheesy sequence in a film where the hottest guy in school asks a nerd to dance.

“He's a truly kind person who can read the room," Dunham said.

"And I was super nervous because I was around so many idols of mine and he made me feel pretty cool," Dunham added.
