A seemingly normal argument over a parking spot led to the shooting of a man outside a luxurious Atlanta mall over the weekend.

Through the Associated Press, Atlanta Police Major Andrew Senzer told the media that two groups in separate vehicles had a confrontation at Lenox Square, a prominent shopping destination in Buckhead.

The involved individuals went inside the mall, but their argument continued when they met outside.

A man was shot in the head after a fight broke out, the outlet added.

The victim, who was only described by Senzer as "approximately 25 years old," was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police further stated that four suspects fled the premises in their vehicle, but they were involved in a crash while leaving. An off-duty Cobb County officer arrested one of the offenders and was taken into custody.

It was unclear whether the arrested suspect was the shooter, said ABC News, who also added that the recent shooting was the fourth that involved Lenox Square.

In December of last year, a Macy's employee was shot in the stomach when she refused to hand the keys to her car to two men at the mall's parking deck.

Another incident involved a man who was shot in the abdomen in a parking lot behind Bloomingdale in February 2019.

Atlanta Police Sergeant John Chafee said that there was a “pre-arranged” meeting between the victim and the suspect, both of which were in their late 40's at the time of the incident.

A man was also shot by an officer when he refused to put down his gun in what police believed to be an armed robbery.
