Netflix released a trailer for its new dating show “Sexy Beasts,” and subscribers have noticed similarities to the streaming platform’s other reality show, “Love Is Blind.”

On Wednesday, Netflix shared the trailer of “Sexy Beasts,” featuring men and women wearing prosthetics and looking like mythical creatures as they go on blind dates.

Following the release of the “Sexy Beasts” trailer, “Love Is Blind” began trending on Twitter, with fans of the series mocking the new show and questioning why Netflix hasn’t released Season 2 of the popular dating show.

“This is quite possibly the most horrific thing I have ever laid my eyes on, it’s like ‘Love Is Blind’ but with nightmare creatures,” one person wrote.

Another person suggested the new show was strange compared to other dating shows. “I love ‘The Circle,’ ‘Too Hot To Handle,’ and ‘Love Is Blind.’ But this? This is too weird. What the [redacted],” the individual tweeted.

“Sexy Beasts” copies the format of the BBC Three reality series of the same name, which follows a group of singles on blind dates as they search for love.

Contests will have to choose from three potential dating matches. However, they will only see the real face of the individual they choose as their perfect match.

The concept of the show is similar to the 2020 Netflix dating show “Love is Blind.” The series followed a group of men and women who go on a series of dates with each other in pods where they cannot see each other.

After talking over the course of 10 days, they will only get the opportunity to see each other’s faces if a proposal is made. “Love is Blind” has since been renewed for two seasons.

“Sexy Beasts” will premiere Wednesday, July 21 on Netflix.
