The long wait is over as “Lucifer” Season 3 will finally premiere on Monday night on its new 8 p.m. EDT timeslot.

Episode 1, titled “They’re Back At It, Aren’t They?” will center on Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) waking up at the desert only to find his angel wings back on. Unsure of who gave him his wings back, Lucifer tries to go in search for some clues. In the teaser released by Fox for episode 1, Lucifer shows his angel wings to Dr. Linda (Rachael Harris), and she gives her a valuable advice on how to deal with it.

In an interview with TV Guide, showrunner Joe Henderson said that Lucifer will assume that his dad gave him his wings back. “So when Lucifer gets the feeling his dad either wants him to be an angel again or feels like he’s worthy of being an angel again, Lucifer decides that he has to be the Devil all the more,” he said.

While still dealing with his wings, Lucifer also reunites with his partner, Chloe (Lauren German), and she’s not exactly thrilled to see him. But even then, Chloe is curious to know what happened to Lucifer. In the clip, Chloe and Lucifer have an argument while on the job. She reminds him that she is the detective, and he’s just helping her out. Lucifer agrees with Chloe.

The premiere episode will also see the arrival of new character Marcus Pierce (Tom Welling). His stern demeanor, however, leaves a negative impression on Chloe, Lucifer and everyone else who will be working with him. Even so, Marcus is charmed by Chloe, and shows some interest in getting to know her outside of work.

Elsewhere, Lucifer finds himself in another compromising situation. Unfortunately, details about this surprising twist are still being kept under wraps. Based on the 45-second teaser, Lucifer is still with Candy Morningstar (Lindsey Gort), the woman he married in Season 2. It is possible that the situation Lucifer will be in will have something to do with her.

“Lucifer” Season 3 will premiere on Fox on Monday at 8 p.m. EDT.
