A woman in Nigeria was taken into custody after she killed her husband for impregnating another woman.

The accused, identified as 47-year-old Olanshile Nasirudeen, was at a slaughterhouse earlier this week when she saw the woman her husband had impregnated. Nasirudeen then got into a fight with the woman regarding her affair with her husband, local daily Punch reported.

On Wednesday, Nasirudeen and her 51-year-old husband argued about the same, during which she stabbed him and fled the scene.

"The suspect picked a knife, stabbed the deceased at the back joint of his left leg, thereby, cutting one of his veins," Ogun State Police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told Daily Post.

The man was rushed to a local hospital and was later transferred to another hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

A search was launched for the accused, who was eventually traced and taken into custody. Investigation revealed the woman was the fourth wife of the deceased, and was worried he would bring another wife home.

"On interrogation, the suspect, who happened to be the fourth wife of the deceased, claimed that it was her husband who first slapped her," Oyeyemi said. "The corpse of the deceased has been released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites after the autopsy had been conducted on it."

It wasn’t clear if the woman has been charged in connection with the murder. She, however, remained in custody as of Thursday.

Earlier this month, a 62-year-old man in Jamaica brutally killed his girlfriend over suspicion of her having an affair with another man. The elderly man killed 29-year-old Nickeisha Keeling at their residence, and then went to a nearby police station and confessed to the crime. Officers arrived at the home and found the partially nude body of the woman in a pool of blood in the bedroom with several chop wounds. The suspect told the investigators the victim had been regularly messaging and calling other men, which led him to believe she was having an affair. The accused and his girlfriend have an 8-year-old son, who was in the custody of his grandmother following the murder.
