A school nurse from Crisfield, Maryland, was arrested Tuesday after she admitted to performing oral sex on several students.

Samantha Marsh, who worked as a nurse at Crisfield High School and Academy allegedly had sexual encounters with four students in the back of her van, from March 2018 till January 2019.

The students stated Marsh picked them up from school in her van and performed the alleged acts at various locations around Crisfield inside the van. Marsh reportedly confessed to engaging in oral sex with at least three students. According to the arrest documents, all the students were 17-year-olds and Marsh communicated with them on social media, especially Snapchat.

In one of the cases, she even took a student to her home and had sex with him in her van which was parked in the driveway. The students were hesitant to speak about their plight but one of them came forward recently on the insistence of his mother. Another student also claimed Marsh informed him of her husband’s absence in January and attempted to take him to her home.

Marsh’s husband said her arrest came as a shock since she had three children of her own. “I know she did wrong. I know that. But she’s not a bad person,” he said.

The residents of Crisfield were shocked when the allegations emerged and one of them said, “It’s hard to believe that the school system can’t keep your kids protected while they’re in school. I have a daughter of my own, and I know if something like this were to happen, I’d be very angry.”

The school authorities said Marsh was placed on paid administrative leave before her arrest. Though they refused to comment on the issue, they called it a "serious personnel matter".

Maryland State Police said the 33-year-old nurse faced ten counts of fourth degree sex offense, four counts of perverted practice, four counts of contributing to the condition of a child and one count of attempted fourth degree sex offense. She was held without bail at the Somerset County Detention Center. The students were not identified due to their age and the nature of the crime.

A former teacher from Douglas County, Colorado, was arrested Wednesday on the suspicion of sexual assault of a child by a person in a position of trust. Lone Tree police arrested John Adkins who taught at Aspen View Academy. He was accused of touching a student inappropriately while she was in his class. He was held at Douglas County Jail and his trial was pending.

A math teacher from Alabama was also jailed on the same day after Wedowee police announced his arrest for having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student. David Burkhalter was held at the Randoph County Jail on eight felony charges and his bond was set at $1 million.

In another incident, Kentucky police charged a teacher with a felony sexual misconduct with a minor after she turned herself in to the authorities Monday. Amy Hamilton was arrested and accused of providing a 15-year-old boy with alcohol before initiating sex with him in 2018. Hamilton allegedly met the boy while she was teaching at Stuart Pepper Middle School in Meade County, Indiana. According to the court documents, the relationship turned sexual in 2018 as she kept in touch with the boy even after she took up a new job in Kentucky. She posted a $5,000 bond and was released. However, the woman was scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 19 when she would enter a plea.
