Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance on CNN to give a positive message, but her critics accused her of trying to stay relevant.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their royal duties months ago and moved to the United States. The couple said they wanted to live a normal and quiet life that's why many attack them whenever they make a public appearance even if it's for a good cause. On Sunday, the duchess appeared on CNN and many slammed her for making an appearance on TV.

"Trying hard to stay relevant after quitting the job that made her relevant in the first place," one commented on CNN's tweet featuring Markle.

"Meghan Markle makes surprise appearance on CNN. Surprise appearances are all she can do to not deter viewers. Desperate PR firm in overdrive to make her word salad relevant. Narcissistic grifter," another tweeted.

Meanwhile, another user urged CNN to hire someone professional instead of Markle.

"Please hire a true inspiration or a professional," a different user commented.

Despite the criticisms, many were happy to see Markle on TV. They praised Prince Harry's wife for being so kind, thoughtful and inspiring.

"An inspiring message made by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex," one wrote with clapping hands emoji.

"We don't deserve her. She is so pure and no one will break her spirit. A true inspiration," another added.

"Just a wonderful, positive and powerful message. Help your neighbors. You never know who needs your help most. Ask if they are ok," a third user wrote.

During her guesting, Markle talked about how people come together to help each other during the pandemic especially since many are struggling to put food on their table. The duchess also recognized the communities' efforts to provide everyone's basic needs.

"They showed us, all of us, that even in the darkest times, when we come together, we have the power to remind someone else that there is hope and that we will be okay," she concluded.
