Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly enjoyed themselves over the Thanksgiving holiday and are expecting the same experience when Christmas arrives. The couple’s sudden burst of happiness comes amid reports they will not spend Christmas with the royal family.

Instead, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are on an extended trip to the US for the holiday season. Although the royal family typically spends the Christmas holiday together, an insider revealed the couple is happy to have time away from Prince William and other royals.

On his HeirPod Podcast, Omid Scobie said Meghan and Prince Harry have taken Archie to the US to celebrate his first Thanksgiving and Christmas. “The Sussexes are away, they’re on their break right up until Christmas,” he explained.

“They celebrated Thanksgiving privately with close family, which is lovely,” he added.

Meanwhile, Lizzie Robinson at ITV News revealed that Meghan and Harry are expected to be absent when Queen Elizabeth hosts NATO leaders at Buckingham Palace.

Omid revealed the couple won’t return to the UK until the end of the year, and a place aide reportedly claimed the pair “welcomed the break.”

“We know they’re away, they’re not even in the country. It’s a long-time trip that they’re on, I think we are really going to see them away until Christmas, as far as I’m aware, which is good for them,” he said.

Despite reports about spending the holiday season in the US, neither Meghan nor Prince Harry has confirmed their plans for the holidays.
