Melania Trump Humiliation: FLOTUS’ Plea For ‘Healthy’ Online Behavior Mocked Due To POTUS

KEY POINTS
- Melania Trump was mocked after her Women of Distinction award speech
- Melania Trump encouraged netizens to have healthy online behavior
- Donald Trump has been dubbed as a social media bully
Melania Trump recently encouraged netizens to practice healthy online behavior when she accepted her Woman of Distinction award. However, her statement did not sit well with the public because of her husband, Donald Trump.
Earlier this week, the FLOTUS encouraged the youth to not define their self-worth based on the number of likes and retweets they get online.
“We live in an age where too many people allow the number of retweets or like to define their self-worth. I am convinced now more than ever that teaching healthy online behavior is crucial to securing a safer future for our children,” she said.
However, not everyone was convinced about the message that the first was trying to convey because her husband is known as one of the biggest bullies on social media.
Just a few days ago, the POTUS once again mocked Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg due to the latter’s height. On Twitter, the president has been calling Bloomberg “Mini Mike.” He also joked that Bloomberg would need to stand on a platform so that people could see him behind the podium.
Trump also made headlines a few weeks ago after he mocked Greta Thunberg on social media. After the 16-year-old received Time’s “Person of the Year” award, the POTUS targeted the teenager on social media because he lost to her.
On Twitter, some critics called Melania a hypocrite from preaching about her anti-bullying campaign but not standing up to her husband.
“Please find something for her to do besides this hypocrisy,” Twitter user @LkAlpine said.
“‘I am convinced now more than ever that teaching healthy online behavior is crucial for securing a safer future for our children.’ -@MelaniaTrump. She lives with the vilest, disgusting, online bully on the planet and said that with a straight face,” Twitter user @TalbertSwan said.
“Teaching healthy online behavior? Start with your husband!!” Twitter user @DRDriscoll1 said.
“Tell your @realDonaldTrump to have healthy online behavior… #BeBest is failing,” Twitter user @WarneDarby said.
