Melania Trump has been endlessly compared to Michelle Obama since she assumed the role of First Lady of the United States in 2017. Though the wife of President Donald Trump has been working so hard in promoting her advocacies and supporting campaigns that focus on uplifting the children’s overall well-being, critics continue to make fun of the FLOTUS and lambast her for failing to end her husband’s “bullying” online.

In 2016, Melania was widely criticized when she, allegedly, copied Michelle Obama’s speech. The mom of one was given the opportunity to talk during the first day of the Republican National Convention that year. Though her piece focused on hard work, honesty, and inclusivity, some were not impressed as Melania, reportedly, sounded like the ex-FLOTUS during the Democratic National Convention in 2008.

Journalist Jarrett Hill took to social media to call out Melania Trump for “stealing” a whole block of paragraph from Michelle Obama’s speech. The New York Times contributor even posted a screenshot of the excerpt from Michelle. Though Melania and Michelle’s speeches are not similar in toto, critics claimed that some parts have the same constructions and wordings.

However, senior communications adviser Jason Miller issued a statement on behalf of Melania, denying the allegations that the former model plagiarized Michelle’s speech. "In writing her beautiful speech, Melania's team of writers took notes on her life's inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking," he said. "Melania's immigrant experience and love for America shone through in her speech, which made it such success,” Jason went on.

Melania Trump has not commented on the accusations up to this writing. However, CNN reporter Kate Bennett, in her “Free, Melania: The Unauthorized Biography” book, shared a source claimed Melania felt guilty after delivering her controversial speech. Kate revealed that the speechwriter was a staffer of the Trump Organization.

The same insider, as per Kate, said Melania felt bad for the speechwriter and thought that she disappointed her husband. However, President Donald Trump has nothing but good words of praise for Melania Trump despite the condemnations and hate she received at the time. “It was truly an honor to introduce my wife, Melania. Her speech and demeanor were absolutely incredible. Very proud! #GOPConvention,” the POTUS wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, just a few days after Kate Bennett’s new book was made available to the public, Stephanie Grisham released a statement, revealing how Melania Trump was surprised at the reporter’s claims. “Our office worked with Kate in good faith in her book and thought she would do an honest job. Sadly, it includes many false details and opinions, showing Ms. Bennett spoke to many anonymous people who don’t know the First Lady,” Stephanie told People. “It continues to be disappointing when people, especially journalists, write books with false information just to profit off the First Family,” she continued.
