Turkey is consumed year-round, and often replaces beef in many recipes in the U.S. due to its endless health benefits.

Generally, Thanksgiving is the holiday when American households will have a deliciously cooked whole turkey as the centerpiece of their festive meal set-up. However, Thanksgiving comes in November and we are nowhere close to that.

But, National Turkey Lovers’ Day is already here with an opportunity for us to enjoy turkey in one of its many forms including ground turkey, turkey tenderloin, and turkey sausage and turkey bacon. The day is celebrated on June 20 annually when turkey is eaten widely in the U.S.

The Turkey Lovers’ Day was proclaimed by The National Turkey Federation, and approved by the Registrar at the National Day Calendar in April 2016.

On this day, have some friends over, fire up the grill and make a flavorful turkey dish.
