From “The Last Dance” to “Icarus,” the streaming service has a plethora of options for millions of its customers and looks like it is in no mood to stop making such type of content.

According to the Independent, Netflix is set to come up with a documentary related to one of the “greatest scandals” in the history of sports. Entitled “Athlete A,” the documentary will follow the story of Larry Nassar who was accused of sexual abuse by numerous female athletes.

The upcoming documentary would also showcase how authorities investigated the matter for two years, which in the end led to Nassar’s imprisonment.

The title, “Athlete A,” refers Maggie Nichols who became the first woman to tell her terrifying ordeal. Nichols, who is considered to be one of the greatest athletes of this generation, was the first one to report the sexual abuse made by U.S. Gymnastics team doctor.

At the time, Nichols said that she was only 15 years old when it all started. Nassar was helping her in providing treatment for the back problems she suffered during a training camp.

In a statement obtained by Time Magazine, the athlete revealed that she trusted Nassar with all the treatment that he was giving to her. But then, he started to touch her inappropriately. Nichols further explained that she did not say anything about the encounter because she was told that Nassar was the “best” doctor in the sports industry.

“I trusted what he was doing at first, but then he started touching me in places I really didn’t think he should. He didn’t have gloves on and he didn’t tell me what he was doing. There was no one else in the room and I accepted what he was doing because I was told by adults that he was the best doctor and he could help relieve my pain,” Nichols said.

Apart from Nichols, athletes like Jeanette Antolin, Simone Biles, Rachael Denhollander, Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, and more came forward with their respective stories.

More than 150 women testified against the team doctor, making it one of the biggest scandals in sports history. Nassar was arrested in December 2016 after the FBI found more than 37,000 images of child pornography and a video of him molesting underage girls. He was sentenced to 60 years in prison for child pornography crimes and he was also sentenced to 40 to 125 years in prison for sexual assault.
