In a case of animal cruelty, a dog owner was charged for allegedly pouring a hot cup of coffee into his pet's eyes. The 18-year-old man was arrested after the incident was reported.

The attack happened Monday morning in Vancouver Island in Canada. Local police said the dog, a two-year-old German shepherd-husky cross, approached the man when it was attacked.

"According to witnesses, the hot coffee was poured directly onto the dog's eyes," police said, adding that there was no indication the dog was acting aggressively toward the man. Following the attack, the man was arrested. He was later released pending his next court date in September.

The dog is expected to make a full recovery from its injuries.

In a recent alleged case of animal cruelty in North Carolina, a man was pictured walking a dog with a leash that appeared to be pulling a brick. Twenty-eight-year-old Scottie Lee Lewis faced misdemeanor charges after the picture of him walking a dog near a convenience store parking lot went viral. In the photo, the canine appeared to be pulling a brick that was attached to a rope behind him.

In another horrific incident, a pet dog was attacked by a stranger with a "blunt instrument." The dog, which was fighting for life, received serious head injuries and brain trauma following the incident, which took place in Burbank, in Brisbane, Australia. The dog owner announced a reward for details about the attacker and told local media that she wanted the perpetrator to be punished.
