‘Pretty Little Liars’ Season 7, Episode 17 Sneak Peek Teases Mary Drake’s Return For Spencer

Since finding out that Mary Drake is her birth mother, Spencer has been tirelessly searching and begging those around her to help her locate the elusive woman. However, in a sneak peek of “Pretty Little Liars” Season 7, episode 17, it looks like Spencer will finally get a reunion with her mother. Will it be the one she was hoping for?

In the sneak peek of “Driving Miss Crazy,” Spencer (Troian Bellisario) can be seen talking to Detective Furey (Nicholas Gonzalez) who asks her if she was only interested in him because she needs a cop in her corner.

Last viewers saw of Spencer, she was one of the main suspects in Archer Dunhill’s (Huw Collins) murder. The night the Liars killed Archer, Spencer headed to the bar at the Radley where she began drinking and eventually got drunk with Furey.

Paying for the second round of drinks, Spencer used Archer’s credit card instead of her own and signed her name on the slip. Police are still waiting on a copy of the receipt but when they receive it, they will have enough evidence to arrest her.

In the “Pretty Little Liars” Season 7, episode 17 sneak peek, Spencer makes it clear to Furey that she won’t be answering any of his questions outside of the police station and threatens that when she is called in for questioning, she won’t be the one who is embarrassed.

After the tense conversation, Spencer waits for Furey to drive off and gets into her car, however, once she starts up the vehicle, Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) pops up from the back seat and covers Spencer’s mouth to stop her from screaming.

Mary then instructs Spencer to drive and the car speeds off into the night. Mary’s sudden return could affect Spencer in many ways. In previous episodes, Spencer and Mary were secretly communicating by leaving messages in wine bottles at Spencer’s barn.

However, when the two finally agreed on a place to meet up, Spencer was followed by Furey and Mary, though her daughter intentionally betrayed her by bringing the police and assumed she was not interested in having a relationship. Did Mary return to get revenge against Spencer?

There is also a possibility that Mary has returned to help her daughter. Mary is no stranger to the criminal lifestyle and may have come back to help clear Spencer’s name in Archer’s murder. Mary was once partners with Archer until things got out of hand and the two parted ways.

Considering that the episode is titled “Driving Miss Crazy,” it seems like Spencer and Mary will be spending some time in her car together and will have plenty to talk about on their way to their destination. But where could Mary be taking Spencer? Will this drive seal their mother-daughter bond or is Spencer in for the ride of her life?
