Prince Charles wasn't immediately informed of his fate in the monarchy.

The Prince of Wales is the longest-serving heir in British history to date. In a throwback interview, he was asked how he learned that he would be king one day.

"I didn't just wake up in my pram one day and say 'Yippee!'" Prince Charles recalled.

"I think it just dawns on you slowly, that people are interested, and slowly you get the idea that you have a certain duty and responsibility."

Prince Charles' son, Prince William, was also not aware that he was second in line to the throne until he went to school. According to Andrew Morton's 2011 book "William and Catherine," Prince Charles and Princess Diana's eldest son attended school thinking he was not any different from anyone else.

However, his innocence ended when a classmate asked him if he knows who the Queen is. Prince William looked at his classmate and answered back with a question, "Don't you mean Granny?"

Prince William's son Prince George is the third-in-line to the throne. According to the Duke of Cambridge, they haven't informed their little boy yet of his future as a king because they didn't feel that it's time yet.

"There'll be a time and place to bring George up and understand how he fits in, in the world. But right now it's just a case of keeping a secure, stable environment around him and showing as much love as I can as a father," Prince William told the BBC.

In related news, there are rumors that Prince Charles is divorcing his second wife Camilla Parker Bowles because the majority of the Brits still don't like her. A source said that the Prince of Wales might sacrifice the love of his life and reign alone – without a queen.

The public's sympathy was initially with Princess Diana ever since the Princess of Wales' revealed in her infamous interview that her relationship with Prince Charles didn't work because "there were three of us in this marriage."

Some, including Princess Diana's fans, have already started to accept the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall's romance, for it has been over two decades already since the People's Princess passed away. Hence, Prince Charles was surprised that many are still not in favor of his current wife.
