Prince Harry is the mastermind why Prince Charles called Queen Elizabeth II “mommy” in his birthday speech for the Queen.

In 2018, the Prince of Wales addressed Her Majesty “mommy” when he delivered a heartfelt speech for her 92nd birthday.

“Your Majesty, mummy, I have a feeling that in 1948 when you were 22 you didn’t somehow expect that on your 92nd birthday to find your son in his 70th year,” Prince Charles said.

The monarch reportedly rolled her eyes afterward while the crowd had a fit of giggles.

According to the documentary “Harry at 30,” it was the Duke of Sussex’s idea that the heir addressed his mother in that way because normally, Prince Charles just calls the Queen “Your Majesty.”

The same documentary revealed how the Queen’s special bond to Prince William’s younger brother. It turned out that she trusts Prince Harry more than the Duke of Cambridge because she consults the former about any matter. It was even Prince Harry who convinced the Queen to do the James Bond stunt at the 2012 Olympics.

“She relies on [Harry] enormously now,” the royal commentator in the documentary said. “She loves him to death and she trusts him totally. She consults him on young people’s issues, so she asks him about texting, about social media, about Twitter.”

Many believe that the Queen has a special spot for Prince Harry. According to Grant Harrold, a former royal butler and etiquette expert, the Queen “does let her guard down with Prince Harry.”

E! News royal correspondent Melanie Bromley also said that the Queen has a “fun” granny to grandson relationship with Prince Harry compared to Prince William. The Duke of Cambridge is second-in-line to the throne, so Queen Elizabeth II’s relationship with him is “half family and half business.” This prompt many to believe that Prince Harry is Queen Elizabeth II’ favorite grandson.

Between Prince Harry and Prince William, the former is more popular and well-received. One netizen asked on Quora why Prince Harry is more loved than Prince William. Many online users believe that this is because he is just a spare, so he has room for mistakes.

Prince Harry had a wild childhood and transformed into a responsible man. On the other hand, Prince William lacks that background story because he has always been good which doesn’t interest many.
