Prince Harry was fooled by Russian pranksters.

Pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov — aka Vovan and Lexus — reportedly spoke with Prince Harry over the phone twice on New Year’s Eve and on Jan. 22. Meghan Markle’s husband was duped into saying that he was “completely separate” from most of the royal family during their recorded conversation, The Sun reported.

The notorious Russian pranksters fooled Prince Harry into thinking that he was talking to 17-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg and her dad. The recorded calls were published on YouTube and Facebook on Monday.

During their call, Prince Harry opened up to fake Thunberg about the tension in the royal family. He also made a confession about his decision to prioritize his wife and son over the royal family.

“Um, it’s, that’s probably a conversation for another time, there’s lots of layers to it and lots of pieces to the puzzle. But sometimes the right decision isn’t always the easy one,” Prince Harry said

“And this decision certainly wasn’t the easy one but it was the right decision for our family, the right decision to be able to protect my son. And I think there’s a hell of a lot of people around the world that can identify and respect us for putting our family first.”

Thunberg’s fake dad then asked Prince Harry if living a normal life was worse than being a royal. Markle’s husband responded with, “Oh no, I think it’s much better (chuckles)”

Prince Harry added that in their current position, they can do things and say things that they might not have been able to do when they were still members of the royal family. Prince William’s brother added that they are in better position because they can “make more of a difference without being criticized (chuckles).”

Prince Harry’s spokesman refused to comment about the recorded conversation. However, royal sources said that it was “completely natural” for him to want to talk to Thunberg and discuss about climate change.

On Monday, Prince Harry and Markle joined the royal family for the Commonwealth service. Prince William and Kate Middleton were accused of snubbing the Sussexes because they barely acknowledged the pair.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared snaps from the outing on Instagram. However, they made a glaring omission by not mentioning that it was their final engagement as royals.
