  • The DualSense controller, DualSense Charging Station and more PS5 accessories will be released on Oct. 30
  • Customers who placed pre-orders received emails from Playstation confirming the accessories' early launch
  • The revamped user interface for the PS5 includes in-game help for PS Plus members

The PlayStation 5 is scheduled to launch on Nov. 12, but a few peripheral accessories will start shipping almost two weeks before the console release.

According to the PlayStation website, the DualSense controller, HD Camera, Media Remote, DualSense Charging Station and Pulse 3D Wireless Headset are all set for release on Oct. 30.

Customers who have placed pre-orders also received emails from Playstation confirming the accessories' release date.

Twitter user Mike Y. shared a screenshot of the email, which reads, “Great news! We are excited to be shipping PS5 accessories early! The new launch date of your pre-order item(s) will now be October 30, 2020.”

Although Best Buy and Walmart are still displaying a Nov. 12 launch date for the accessories, Target is among the few that confirmed the Oct. 30 release.

With news of the PlayStation 5 backward compatibility, PlayStation VR accessibility and a makeover of the trophy system, the console’s accessories have not been in the spotlight as much.

The DualSense controller has been, as expected, the most scrutinized of these accessories. With a new white look, bigger battery capacity than the DualShock 4, haptic feedback and internal microphone, the DualSense is almost as intriguing as the PlayStation 5 console.

Sony also recently unveiled the revamped user interface for the PlayStation 5, presenting something more intuitive than what has been seen from Sony so far. It is clearly targeted to take advantage of 4K TV displays, with a control center that allows easy access to power, audio levels, microphone and controller battery level without needing to exit the game being played.

PlayStation Plus members get in-game help, an option to pin video walkthroughs to the screen that players can keep looking at while taking on whatever difficult challenge they themselves are playing through. This is a useful feature, particularly for games that can be frustrating at times.

Pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 started off rocky but continue to be taken by stores that have them in stock. The standard edition retails at $499, while the Digital Edition is priced at $399.
