Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger are teaming up again to prevent Judgment Day in the latest trailer for “Termintor: Dark Fate.”

Despite being three films in the series following “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” Tim Miller and James Cameron have decided to ignore these sequels and pick the story up nearly 30 years after “T2.” This is similar to 2018’s “Halloween,” which served as a direct sequel to the original 1978 film and ignored the long series of films that came in between. It will also be the first “Terminator” film Cameron will have major creative input on since “T2.”

“Dark Fate” picks up 27 years after Sarah and John Conner stopped Skynet in 1995. Mackenzie Davis plays Grace, a cyborg-soldier sent back by the resistance to protect Dani Ramos, played by Natalie Reyes, from the Rev-9, a dangerous terminator played by Gabriel Luna. Grace’s efforts spark the interest of Sarah Conner, who has lived in hiding, to appear and aid the pair in the fight. They will also need to seek out the aid of an aging T-800 model, played by Schwarzenegger, that was originally sent back to kill a young John Conner but abandoned its mission and has lived in seclusion.

And Linda Hamilton isn’t the only Conner returning for the sixth film in the franchise.

Cameron revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that Edward Furlong would be returning to the role that launched his career in 1991.

“Terminator: Dark Fate” releases in theaters Nov. 1, 2019.
