Scream Season 2 Synopsis
A new killer could arrive in Lakewood when Season 2 of MTV’s “Scream” premieres. MTV

When MTV’s “Scream” Season 1 came to a close, Emma thought the horrors she lived through had finally ended. Unfortunately for her, the Brandon James killer still has some work to do and will up the body count when Season 2 premieres next week.

According to the synopsis, Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) will return to Lakewood in the season premiere after spending some time away on a retreat following the traumatic events of Season 1. She’ll be looking to move on with her life, but she’ll still be traumatized by what happened and will be haunted by dreams. The synopsis says her friends will be "walking on eggshells around her, questioning whether she has truly gotten over the killer's crimes."

While Emma looks to get her life back in order, Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus) will begin to be blackmailed by someone who knows her connection to Piper (Amelia Blaire Rose). Audrey had some sort of role in the murders of Season 1 and likely aided Piper. Noah (John Karna) is going to continue to dig into the previous murders, but Audrey will want him to drop it. Meanwhile, Brooke (Carlson Young) and Jake (Tom Maden) could be moving towards a romantic relationship after surviving the killing spree.

As the returning characters will adjust to life following Season 1, there will be some new faces popping up. Since Sheriff Hudson (Jason Wiles) was killed in the Season 1 finale, Lakewood will have a new sheriff this season, Sheriff Michael Acosta (Anthony Ruivivar). The gang will also have new teacher in their lives named Karen Lang (Austin Highsmith), who teaches psychology and serves as a mentor for her students.

Noah won’t be the only one this season with a killer obsession. Gustavo Acosta (Santiago Segura) will arrive in Lakewood, who will basically be a darker version of Noah. He will also be joined by another new student named Zoe (Kiana Ledé), who is described as a “driven overachiever with a secret.” Could one of these new characters be the new killer in Season 2?
