  • Kusama shared details about Shibarium's release date
  • They said the project's release date is not an on/off switch
  • Many hoped that Shibarium would launch on Valentine's Day

Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous lead developer of the dog-themed altcoin Shiba Inu, has shed light on the heavily speculated release date of its layer-2 scalability solution Shibarium.

With the Shib Army, the fierce and loyal members of the Shiba Inu community, hyping the launch of Shibarium, industry watchers forecast that the initiative could help SHIB, the native token of the ecosystem, to deliver monster gains.

Aside from its promise of ushering in lower transaction fees and faster transactions, Shibarium, according to Kusama's previous statements, will help change the cryptocurrency world.

With the extremely high anticipation and with cryptic posts from the lead developer seemingly hinting at the project's release this month, some Shib Armies could not help but ask about Shibarium's release date each time they got a chance.

Kusama was asked again about the release date of Shibarium in one of the Shiba Inu official community channels.

A content creator and Shib Army, who goes by the Twitter name @LucieSHIB, shared a screenshot of the conversation on Twitter this weekend.

Kusama confirmed that Shibarium is releasing soon and suggested that they shared the community's frustration over the project's release date when they said that they too, are "tired of keeping quiet" and promised to the community to discuss the project "soon."

In another response, Kusama admitted that they do not have the release date of Shibarium. The pseudonymous lead developer said "the release won't be an on/off switch" and hinted that the team will only share the initiative's release date as soon as it is fixed and perhaps if everything in Shibarium works smoothly and as planned.

Several Shib Armies previously speculated that Shibarium, or at least its public beta, might launch on Valentine's Day based on Kusama's cryptic Twitter Bio.

The previous Twitter bio in question read, "tending the Pine Tree of Life. Quickly learning to play the flute before putting Shibarium in a heart-shaped box with a bow."

Despite the excitement surrounding the launch of Shibarium, it has no release date to this day.

While some members of the community are fine with this and would rather see the project successfully released in perfect shape than the rushed version with security issues, others just could not contain their excitement and would like to see Shibarium as soon as possible.

Unification, the team in-charge in the development of Shibarium, said in a recent update that the initiative's beta testnet was moving smoothly and noted that "given the scope, it's foolish to rush, but work is progressing well. And although the public beta network is yet to be deployed, that day is rapidly moving ever closer."

SHIB saw a 0.29% decline over the past 24 hours and was trading down at $0.00001288 with a 24-hour trading volume of $383,258,132 as of 12:43 a.m. ET on Monday, according to the latest data from CoinMarketCap.
