Stock index futures pointed to a higher open on Thursday after top cell phone maker Nokia reassured investors by reaffirming its handset market forecast and a report said that Sun Microsystems Inc is willing to resume takeover talks with IBM .

Shares of JPMorgan Chase & Co also rose before the bell after reporting better-than-expected first quarter results.

S&P 500 futures rose 1.90 points and were above fair value, a formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration on the contract. Dow Jones industrial average futures were flat, and Nasdaq 100 futures jumped 13.50 points.
